Our Workshops

Whether you choose to join an improvisation class or a longer Creative Spontaneity workshop, you are in for a treat. No workshop is ever the same. What happens in the room depends on you and your co-conspirators. The workshops use methods, teachings and tools from Viola Spolin, Augusto Boal, and J.L. Moreno to mention a few.

You are invited to bring your curiosity, courage, whimsy, and jump in. You can walk away with new ways of seeing the world and yourself. Improve or discover your abilities to reframe what is in front of you. You can learn to think and respond more readily and to stay in your body when you are doing it. You might just have some fun.

We live in a world in which people are critically fun-starved.” Mike Rucker, PhD. The Fun Habit

Research is telling us that we need to re-connect with others and ourselves and fun is the easiest way to do that and get all the benefits, both physical and emotional.

Really, what’s not to love!

“Spontaneity is the ability to have a new response to an old situation and an adequate response to a new situation.”

How it works

The Creative Spontaneity Workshop is an exciting two sessions of exercises, games and activities focused on flexing the most important creative muscle – your brain. The workshop is a culmination of practices ranging from design thinking and drama therapy to music, breathing and improvisation skills. Across the two days, you will have a chance to engage with yourself and others in a playful, safe space and delight in the breaking of old habitual responses while learning new tools for career and personal success.

It’s run by Interact Now’s very own director, Joy Stewart. In these workshops, Joy will share with you some of the tools she uses in her practice as a psychotherapist, while drawing on her background as an award-winning playwright and director.

Spontaneity is key to everything important in our lives, from our careers to our relationships. It’s also a skill you can actively work on. A skill you can harness to help you feel more aware, more connected and, most of all, more alive in the moment.

Places fill quickly, so book now to avoid missing out.
